Futureworks Hardware Incubator Fellows & Entrepreneurs Join “Renew me

We’re thrilled to announce that 6 Futureworks Hardware Incubator Fellows are joining our NYC Design Week show “Renew Me”! The show takes place in the Usagi Gallery in Dumbo from May 10-12. Futureworks is an initiative by NYCEDC & SecondMuse. The incubator is an 8-month program that comes with access to makerspaces, workshops, & support from experts around NYC.

 

Each startup is tackling sustainability in a unique way.

 BioMATTERS 

bioMATTERS creates new materials through reprogramming living systems that feed on waste to create innovative biopolymers.

We Are the New Farmers grow fresh Spirulina indoors in the Sunset Park Brooklyn Army Terminal using proprietary technology developed by their team. Why? Fresh Spirulina is an incredibly nutrient-dense and energy-efficient food.

AnaCheza’s Automated Paper Rolling Machine is a closed-loop manufacturing technology that upcycles mixed low-grade waste paper by automating a dexterous handcrafting process.
